Shawn is an experienced freelance editor and proofreader, award-winning sports journalist, columnist, and outstanding trumpet player. She’s spent twenty-five years undertaking everything from performing, proofreading, editing, coaching, copywriting, reading, writing, studying, traveling, and exploring.
Currently, she serves as the editor for a internet computer retail website. Articles she writes are available on the links to your right. The Georgia Press Association gave her first place for her sports writing and second place for her adventure column.
Her poetry has been included in anthologies and one won a Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry. In the wee hours, she is completing her first novel.
She has performed with the Utah Symphony Orchestra, the Boise Philharmonic, the Boise Summerfest series, and the Boise Faculty Brass Quintet. She earned numerous awards as both a soloist and principal player in a variety of symphonic bands, recitals, big bands, and a professional funk band.
She was a member of the 1984 International Olympic Marching Band in Los Angeles and the 1986 Liberty Marching Band for the rededication of the Statue of Liberty in New York.
